Two of today’s most controversial topics may seem at first glance to be miles apart, but they are united by the struggles of someone confronting issues everyone else would rather ignore. The CEO of an electric utility is the focus of this documentary, in which the filmmaker son wants to get to the bottom of the energy debate. But what begins as a straightforward exploration of energy use and abuse is soon derailed by a staggering family secret that forces parent and child to turn their attention toward a much more personal crisis born of the many ways we lie to ourselves.
